In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make deepslate bricks, place 4 polished deepslate in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When making deepslate bricks, it is important that the polished deepslate are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 1 polished deepslate in the first box and 1 polished deepslate in the second box.
