Background

The Frost Walker enchantment temporarily freezes the water around you and turns it into ice. You can then walk across the ice to quickly get around in the game. It also allows you to walk across magma blocks without taking damage.

You can add the Frost Walker enchantment to boots using an anvil or game command. You can NOT get the Frost Walker enchantment using an enchanting table. You will need to wear the enchanted boots to gain the ability to freeze water.

The maximum level for the Frost Walker enchantment is Level 2. This means that you can enchant an item with up to Frost Walker II. The higher the level, the more powerful the enchantment.

Wear the Enchanted Boots

Once you have boots that are enchanted with Frost Walker, you need to wear the enchanted boots. You will not gain the ability to freeze water and walk across the ice until the boots are worn.

Move the boots with Frost Walker from your inventory to your character's boots box.

You will see your character's appearance change as the boots are worn.
