How to make a Cake in Minecraft

This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a cake with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, a cake is one of the many food items that you can make. A cake will replenish your food meter when eaten, but a cake is a bit different from other food items because each cake has seven slices. As you eat the cake to fill up your hunger bar, you will remove only one slice at a time from the cake. Different players can also eat from the same cake at the same time.

A cake is also a great decoration item and you can place candles on them. This is a great way to celebrate your friend's birthday or other special event.

How to craft a Cake in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make a Cake

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a cake, place 3 milk buckets, 2 sugar, 1 egg, and 3 wheat in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When making a cake, it is important that the items are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 3 milk buckets. In the second row, there should be 1 sugar in the first box, 1 egg in the second box, and 1 sugar in the third box. In the third row, there should be 3 wheat. Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the cake will appear in the box to the right.

3. Move the Cake to Inventory

Once you have crafted a cake, you need to move the new items to your inventory. You should also move your 3 empty buckets back to your inventory.
