The easiest way to run a command in Minecraft is within the chat window. The game control to open the chat window depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), press the T key to open the chat window.
2. Type the Command
In this example, we are going to fill a region with the Grove biome in Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac) with the following command:
/fillbiome ~ ~ ~ ~10 ~10 ~10 grove
Type the command in the chat window. As you are typing, you will see the command appear in the lower left corner of the game window. Press the Enter key to run the command.
Once the cheat has been entered, the biome associated with the fill region will change and be set to the Grove biome.
You will see the message "36 biome entries set between -12, 72, -204 and 0, 80, -196" appear in the lower left corner of the game window to indicate that the fillbiome command has completed.
Now, the fill region will take on the new properties of the Grove biome. In this example, it will now snow in this Desert (just like the Grove biome) and snow will accumulate on the ground. This phenomenon will only happen in the fill region.
