Where to Find a Bastion Remnant

In Minecraft, a Bastion Remnant is a structure that spawns naturally in the game. It looks like a large dark tower made out of blackstone (and blackstone variations). It can be found in the Nether dimension in the Nether Wastes, Soul Sand Valley, Warped Forest and Crimson Forest biomes.

The Bastion Remnant has many different shapes and sizes, but here is what it generally looks like:

The outside of the Bastion Remnant is made up of a base of blackstone at the bottom of the structure with polished blackstone bricks, blackstone, and basalt that make of the rest of the exterior.

In the walls of the Bastion Remnant, you may see dark blocks that are speckled with gold. These blocks are called gilded blackstone.

Chests in the Bastion Remnant

The inside of the Bastion Remnant is made up of randomly generated corriders, rooms, bridges, and treasure rooms. You will also find lots of chests to loot.

Soul Speed in Chest

This large chest has both golden boots enchanted with Soul Speed as well as a Soul Speed enchanted book.

Snout Armor Trim in Chest

There is also a chance that you can find Snout Armor Trim in one of the chests in the Bastion Remnant. You can use Snout Armor Trim to visually customize your armor using a Smithing Table.

Smithing Template in Chest

You might also find a Smithing Template in one of the chests in the Bastion Remnant. You can use a Smithing Template to upgrade your diamond gear (armor, tools, and weapons) to netherite gear using a Smithing Table.

Sections found within the Bastion Remnant

Each Bastion Remnant structure will have its own unique set of corriders, rooms and bridges (and may not contain all of the sections). Here are some of the different sections that you can find in a Bastion Remnant:

1. Hoglin Stables

The hoglin stables are generally found on the lower part of the Bastion Remnant. This is where you can find hoglins.

2. Treasure Room

In the center of the treasure room, you will find blocks of gold as well as a chest to loot. This treasure is guarded by a piglin with a golden sword.

The majority of the treasure room is covered in lava with a blackstone path leading to the center area. There are single blocks of polished blackstone bricks scattered throughout the lava that you can jump on to move around the room.

In the lava, you will also see magma cubes bouncing around that have been spawned by the nearby magma cube spawner.

3. Nether Wart Farm

The nether wart farm is usually found in the lower part of the Bastion Remnant surrounded by lava and blackstone paths. In the center, you will find blocks of soul sand with nether warts growing on top. You can usually find a chest filled with goodies.
