Clay Renewability in Minecraft
This Minecraft tutorial explains all about clay renewability with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.
In the real world, clay is a non-renewable resource because the geological process takes hundreds of thousands of years. However, in Minecraft, clay is now renewable and you can create it in just 10 minutes. We'll show you how!
Required Materials
In Minecraft, these are the required materials for clay renewability:
Steps for Clay Renewability
1. Find a Stalactite
First, you need to find a stalactite in the Dripstone Caves which is a biome that can be found underground.
In the Dripstone Caves biome, stalactites can be seen growing from above and are made out of Pointed Dripstone (that grow beneath a Dripstone block).
Here is what a stalactite looks like:
2. Place a Mud Block
Next, place mud on top of the Dripstone Block that the stalactite is attached to. The game control to place the mud depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the Dripstone Block.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the Dripstone Block.
- For Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
- For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the Dripstone Block.
You will see water drip down from the Pointed Dripstone (ie: stalactite) and draw water out of the mud block. This process is drying out the mud.
3. Mud turns into Clay
After less than 10 minutes, the mud will dry out and turn into clay.
Now, you can mine the Clay Block. And that's how clay is renewable!
Congratulations, you just learned how clay renewability works in Minecraft.
