Steps to Grow a Chicken from an Egg
1. Throw the Egg
You can take an egg from your inventory and use it to spawn a baby chicken in Minecraft.
In this example, we have built a fence to keep our baby chicken. Also, we have selected an egg in the hotbar so now we can see that we are holding the egg in our hand.
Next, position your pointer (the plus sign) on the block where you want to spawn the baby chicken. You should see the block become highlighted in your game window.
The game command to throw the egg depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the block.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the block.
- For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
