Required Materials for this Armor Equipper
In this Minecraft example, these are the required materials you will need:
Steps to Make an Automatic Armor Equipper
1. Place the Dispensers
Start by placing 2 dispensers, one on top of the other. Be sure that the dispensers are both facing the same direction. The game control to place the dispensers depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the block.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the block.
- For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS3 and PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
- For Wii U, press the ZL button on the gamepad.
- For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the block.
- For Education Edition, right click on the block.
In Java Edition, you will need to hold down the SHIFT key while placing the second dispenser on top of the first dispenser (otherwise you will open the menu for the first dispenser).
Place 2 more dispensers facing inwards. Notice that all dispenser holes are facing inwards!
2. Place the Pressure Plate
Next, place a stone pressure plate between the two sets of dispensers. The game control to place the pressure plate depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the block.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the block.
- For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS3 and PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
- For Wii U, press the ZL button on the gamepad.
- For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the block.
- For Education Edition, right click on the block.
3. Add 2 Stone Blocks and connect with Redstone Dust
Now, place a stone block on either side of the dispensers. Then connect the stone pressure plate to the dispensers with redstone dust. The game control to place these items depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the block.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the block.
- For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS3 and PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
- For Wii U, press the ZL button on the gamepad.
- For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the block.
- For Education Edition, right click on the block.
Be sure to place redstone dust on top of the stone blocks to connect the top two dispensers to the pressure plate:
4. Add an Armor Item to each Dispenser
Now you can add an armor item to each of the dispensers. The order that you add the armor to the dispensers doesn't matter. The game control to open the dispenser depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the dispenser.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the dispenser.
- For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS3 and PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
- For Wii U, press the ZL button on the gamepad.
- For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the dispenser.
- For Education Edition, right click on the dispenser.
Add the diamond chestplate to the first dispenser.
Add the diamond helmet to the second dispenser.
Add the diamond leggings to the third dispenser.
Add the diamond boots to the fourth dispenser.
The dispensers now are now loaded with the diamond armor and are ready to go!
5. Activate the Armor Equipper!
Now it is time to test out the automatic armor equipper device.
When you walk on the stone pressure plate, the device will activate and automatically equip the full set of diamond armor on you!
Notice how the redstone dust lights up when the device has been activated. Once this happens, you will be fully equipped with a diamond helmet, diamond chestplate, diamond leggings and diamond boots!
