Steps to Use a Smoker
1. Place the Smoker
To use a smoker, first, select the smoker in your hotbar. If you don't have a smoker in your inventory, you can quickly make one with a crafting recipe for a smoker.
Next, position your pointer (the plus sign) on the block where you want to place the smoker. You should see the block become highlighted in your game window.
The game control to place the smoker depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the block.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the block.
- For Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
- For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the block.
- For Education Edition, right click on the block.
2. Add Fuel to the Smoker
Next, add fuel to the bottom box of the smoker.
In this tutorial, we are going to use coal as our fuel.
3. Add Item to Smoker
Next, place a food item that you want to cook in the top box of the smoker such as raw chicken. You should see the flames cooking the item.
Once the raw chicken has cooked in the smoker, the cooked chicken will appear in the box to the right.
4. Move the Item to Inventory
Now that you have made cooked chicken in your smoker, you need to move the new item to your inventory.
