Required Materials to make Dark Oak Leaves
In Minecraft, these are the materials you can use to gather dark oak leaves:
How to get Dark Oak Leaves in Survival Mode
You can add dark oak leaves to your inventory in Survival mode by finding dark oak trees growing in a Dark Forest biome and then trimming the leaves from the tree with a pair of shears. So let's get started!
1. Find a Dark Oak Tree
First, you need to find a dark oak tree in your Minecraft world. Dark oak trees are found in the Dark Forest. It is easy to spot a Dark Forest because of the large red and brown mushrooms towering through the dark oak trees.
Within the Dark Forest, you will find dark oak trees. Dark oak trees can only survive in very shady areas which is why you can only find them in these forested areas.
2. Hold your Shears
Next, place your shears in your hand by selecting them in your hotbar.
Position your pointer (the plus sign) on the dark oak leaves of the tree. You should see the block of dark oak leaves become highlighted in your game window.
3. Use the Shears
Next, use the shears on the dark oak leaves to cut them from the dark oak tree. The game control to use the shears on the dark oak leaves depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the dark oak leaves.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the dark oak leaves.
- For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS3 and PS4, press and hold the R2 button on the PS controller.
- For Wii U, press and hold the ZR button on the gamepad.
- For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZR button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, left click and hold on the dark oak leaves.
- For Education Edition, left click and hold on the dark oak leaves.
You will need to continue to clip with the shears until the dark oak leaves fall from the tree.
4. Pick up the Dark Oak Leaves
Make sure you pick up the dark oak leaves before they disappear.
Once you pick up the dark oak leaves, they will appear in your hotbar.
A block of dark oak leaves is a useful item and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.
