How to get Nether Gold Ore in Survival Mode

You can add nether gold ore to your inventory in Survival mode by mining nether gold ore with a pickaxe that is enchanted with Silk Touch. So, let's get started!

1. Find a Block of Nether Gold Ore

First, you need to find a block of nether gold ore in your Minecraft world. Nether gold ore is found in the Nether in the Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, Soul Sand Valley or Nether Wastes.

2. Hold a Pickaxe with Silk Touch

To mine for nether gold ore, you need to dig up the nether gold ore with a pickaxe that has been enchanted with Silk Touch.

Other tools will not dig up the nether gold ore and let you add it to your inventory.

In this example, we are going to use a diamond pickaxe with Silk Touch to dig up the nether gold ore.

3. Mine the Nether Gold Ore

The game control to mine the nether gold ore depends on the version of Minecraft:

For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the block of nether gold ore.
For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the block of nether gold ore.
For Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
For PS4, press and hold the R2 button on the PS controller.
For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZR button on the controller.
For Windows 10 Edition, left click and hold on the block of nether gold ore.
For Education Edition, left click and hold on the block of nether gold ore.

You will need to continue to mine until the block breaks and a smaller block of nether gold ore finally appears. The nether gold ore will float on the ground.

TIP: Normally when you mine nether gold ore, you get a gold nugget as the drop. However, when you mine the nether gold ore using a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch, you will get the nether gold ore itself as the drop.

4. Pick up the Nether Gold Ore

Make sure you pick up the nether gold ore before it disappears.
