How to get a Spruce Log in Survival Mode

You can add a spruce log to your inventory in Survival mode by chopping down a spruce tree. So, let's get started!

1. Find a Spruce Tree

First, you need to find a spruce tree in your Minecraft world. Spruce trees are usually found in the Taiga or Old Growth Pine Taiga biomes.

2. Hold an Axe

Although you can use your hand to chop down a spruce tree, we prefer to use a tool such as an axe. These are the axes you can choose from:

In this example, we are going to use a diamond axe because it is a faster tool to chop down a spruce tree.

3. Chop the Tree Trunk

The game control to chop down the tree trunk of a spruce tree depends on the version of Minecraft:

For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the spruce tree.
For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the spruce tree.
For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
For PS3 and PS4, press and hold the R2 button on the PS controller.
For Wii U, press and hold the ZR button on the gamepad.
For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZR button on the controller.

4. Pick up the Spruce Log

Make sure you pick up the spruce log before it disappears.
