7. Pick up the Wheat

Make sure you pick up the wheat before it disappears.

TIP: If you harvest your plants too soon, it will give you seeds instead of wheat. Make sure your plants are full-grown before breaking them.

How to craft Wheat in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make Wheat

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make wheat, place 1 hay bale in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When making wheat, it is important that the hay bale is placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 1 hay bale in the first box. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for wheat.
