How to craft a Redstone Comparator in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make a Redstone Comparator

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a redstone comparator, place 3 stones, 3 redstone torches, and 1 nether quartz in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When making a redstone comparator, it is important that the stones, redstone torches, and nether quartz are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 1 redstone torch in the second box. In the second row, there should be 1 redstone torch in the first box, 1 nether quartz in the second box, and 1 redstone torch in the third box. In the third row, there should be 3 stones.
