How to craft a Dark Oak Boat in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make a Dark Oak Boat

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a dark oak boat, place 5 dark oak planks in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When making a dark oak boat, it is important that the dark oak planks are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. There should be 2 dark oak planks placed in the first row at either sides (the middle box should be left empty) and 3 dark oak planks placed in the second row.
