How to craft a Spruce Boat in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make a Spruce Boat

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a spruce boat, place 5 spruce planks in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When making a spruce boat, it is important that the spruce planks are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. There should be 2 spruce planks placed in the first row at either sides (the middle box should be left empty) and 3 spruce planks placed in the second row. If you are making a spruce boat for Minecraft PE, Windows 10, Xbox, PS, Wii U, Nintendo Switch and Education Edition, you need to add one additional item which is a wooden shovel that goes in the middle box in the first row.
