Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition 1.5 Version History

Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition 1.5.0 is called the Update Aquatic and was released on July 10, 2018. It is considered to be a major update to the game that focused on aquatics in Minecraft (ie: all things underwater). Starting in this version, Nintendo Switch has now joined the Bedrock Edition and can cross-platform play with Pocket Edition, Windows 10 and Xbox One.

  • Nintendo Switch players can now officially cross-platform play with Pocket Edition, Windows 10 and Xbox One.
  • Build a Conduit Power structure underwater to give nearby players the Conduit Power effect
  • Better boat steering for players using keyboards! You can now use "w" to move forward and "s" to to reverse
  • Dolphins can now be given raw cod or raw salmon and will swim towards the nearest Ocean Ruins or Shipwreck
  • Bubble columns! Use soul sand to create upward flowing columns and magma blocks to create downward flowing columns
  • Added access to the Chemistry pack from Education Edition - just toggle Education Edition in your world settings and use the Lab Journal at aka.ms/labjournal to perform fun science experiments!
