General Changes
  • This update has added 4 new exciting features to Minecraft Windows 10 Edition:

    1. Added the Render Dragon graphics engine which is a new graphics engine that provides greater performance, stability, and flexilibility (Render Dragon has been available for Xbox One and PS4 hardware since 2019)
    2. Added new ray tracing lighting technology which brings more realistic lighting to scenes. Ray tracing behaves much more like the lighting in the real world.
    3. Added physically based rendering (PBR) system which allows developers to adjust even more properties of a material such:
      • Emissivity - which is how much light an object casts
      • Metallic - which is how much color a material contributes to its reflection
      • Roughness - which is how rough or smooth an object appears
      • Height - which is the simulation of depth on a flat surface
      • Normals - which is the simulation of curvature on a surface (and how light should bounce off it)
    4. Added NVIDIA DLSS for supported hardware. DLSS stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling and is groundbreaking AI rendering technology. It boosts frame rates and generates beautiful, sharp images in the game.
