How to make Sodium Oxide (Compound) in Minecraft

This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a compound called Sodium Oxide (from the Chemistry update) with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, Sodium Oxide is one of the compounds that you can craft using the compound creator. It is available in the Chemistry Update for Minecraft Education Edition and has also been added to Minecraft Pocket Edition, Windows 10, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch (if you enable the Education Edition chemistry features in your world).

TIP: To enable the Education Edition chemistry features in Minecraft PE, Windows 10, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, toggle the Education Edition option in your world settings. Because Education gameplay may break your world, the game will make a copy of your world starting with [EDU]. This is the world that will contain the new Chemistry "features".

How to craft Sodium Oxide

1. Open the Compound Creator Menu

First, open your compound creator so that you have the Compound Creator menu that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make Sodium Oxide

In the Compound Creator menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 grid. To make Sodium Oxide, place 2 Sodium and 1 Oxygen in the 3x3 grid.

When crafting Sodium Oxide, you can place the elements anywhere in the grid and you will get the same result. In this example, we have placed 2 Sodium and 1 Oxygen in the second row. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for the compound called Sodium Oxide which has the chemical formula of Na₂O.

3. Move the Sodium Oxide to Inventory
