Background

In Minecraft, the Desert Lakes is a biome in the Overworld. It is an area that is made up of sand, cacti, and dead bushes with many rivers flowing through it. Along the sides of the rivers, you can sometimes find sugar canes growing. Starting in Minecraft 1.18, the Desert Lakes is no longer a unique biome, but has become part of the Desert biome.

The weather in the Desert Lakes biome is very dry with little precipitation.

There are no trees in the Desert Lakes as this biome consists mostly of sand.
