Required Materials to make a Daylight Detector

In Minecraft, these are the materials you can use to craft a daylight detector:

TIP: You only need to use one type of wood slab! You don't have to gather them all.

How to craft a Daylight Detector in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make a Daylight Detector

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a daylight detector, place 3 glass, 3 nether quartz, and 3 wood slabs in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When crafting with wood slabs, you can use any kind of wood slab, such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, bamboo, crimson, or warped slabs. In our example, we are using 3 oak slabs.

When making a daylight detector, it is important that the glass, nether quartz, and wood slabs are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 3 glass. In the second row, there should be 3 nether quartz. In the third row, there should be 3 wood slabs. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a daylight detector.

Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the daylight detector will appear in the box to the right.
