Levitation in Minecraft
This Minecraft tutorial explains the Levitation effect with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

Background
The Levitation effect is a status effect that causes a player to involuntarily float upwards into the sky and continue to rise. Once the effect wears off, you will stop rising and fall back to the ground.
There are levels of Levitation such as Levitation II, Levitation III, Levitation IV and so on. The higher the level of Levitation, the faster you will float upwards in the game.

Icon and Particle Effects
When you have the Levitation effect, the following icon will appear in the top right corner of your screen:
You will also see particle effects floating around you. In the latest version of Minecraft, these particle effects will be a blue-green color.
When the Levitation effect wears off, the icon and particle effects will disappear. You will be back to your normal status and begin to fall back to the ground.
Duration
Depending on how you get the effect, the duration of the Levitation effect will be different. To see how much time is remaining for the effect, go to your inventory menu.
In this example, it says 2:20 under Levitation so this means that there is 2 minutes and 20 seconds remaining of the Levitation effect.
