In Minecraft, breeding mules is a bit trickier because a mule is not created by breeding two mules. But rather, a mule is the offstring of a horse and a donkey. Let's explore how to breed mules.

1. Find One Horse and One Donkey
First, you will need to find one horse and one donkey to breed together.

If you are having trouble finding these mobs, you can summon a horse or summon a donkey using a cheat. You can also use a horse spawn egg or a donkey spawn egg.
Your horse and donkey will need to be close together when breeding, so we have built a fence to keep them from running away.
2. Tame the Horse and the Donkey
You can't breed a wild horse with a wild donkey in Minecraft, so you will need to first tame both the horse and the donkey.

3. Use the Item
Next, select either a golden carrot, golden apple or enchanted golden apple in your hot bar. In this tutorial, we will feed our horse and donkey a golden carrot, one at a time.
The game control to use/feed the golden carrot to the horse and donkey depends on the version of Minecraft:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the mobs one at a time.
- For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the mobs one at a time.
- For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
- For PS3 and PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
- For Wii U, press the ZL button on the gamepad.
- For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
- For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the mobs one at a time.
- For Education Edition, right click on the mobs one at a time.
As you feed the golden carrot to the horse and donkey, you will see red hearts appear over their heads. Each of these mobs is entering love mode.
Once you have fed both, they will turn to each other and red hearts will continue to appear over their heads.
After a moment, the red hearts will disappear and a cute baby mule will be standing there.
Now you will have an adult horse, an adult donkey and a baby mule.
