Required Materials to make a Leather Cap
In Minecraft, these are the materials you can use to craft a leather cap:
How to craft a Leather Cap in Survival Mode
1. Open the Crafting Menu
First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:
2. Add Items to make a Leather Cap
In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a leather cap, place 5 leather in the 3x3 crafting grid.
When making a leather cap, it is important that the leather are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. There should be 3 leather in the first row and 2 leather in the second row at either sides (the middle box should be left empty). This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a leather cap.
Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the leather cap will appear in the box to the right.
3. Move the Leather Cap to Inventory
Once you have crafted a leather cap, you need to move the new item to your inventory.
Congratulations, you have made a leather cap in Minecraft!

Durability represents how long the item will last. For tools, weapons and transportation, durability is the number of useful actions before the item is destroyed. For armor items, durability is the number of hits (that can be blocked by armor) before the item is destroyed. So the higher the durability number, the longer the item will last.
The following table shows the durability for each helmet/cap in Minecraft:
