Background
The Projectile Protection enchantment reduces the damage from projectile attacks such as arrows, ghast fireballs, and blaze fire charges.
You can add the Projectile Protection enchantment to any piece of armor such as helmets, chestplates, leggings or boots using an enchanting table, anvil, or game command. You will then need to wear the enchanted armor to gain the projectile protection.
The maximum level for the Projectile Protection enchantment is Level 4. This means that you can enchant an item with up to Projectile Protection IV. The higher the level, the more powerful the enchantment.

Wear the Enchanted Armor
Once you have armor enchanted with Projectile Protection, you need to wear the enchanted armor. You will not gain the projectile protection until the armor items are worn.
Move each of the armor items (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) with Projectile Protection from your inventory to your character's armor boxes.
You will see your character's appearance change as the armor is worn.
Now that you are wearing the enchanted armor with Projectile Protection, the amount of damage that you will take from objects projected at you will be reduced.
