Background

The Poison effect is a status effect that does damage to your health every 1.25 seconds and turns the hearts in your health bar to a yellowish-green.

The Poison effect itself won't kill you because it will pause when your health is at 1 health point (or half heart half heart poison). However if you heal above 1 health point while you are poisoned, the damaging effect will resume.

There are levels of Poison such as Poison II, Poison III, Poison IV and so on. The higher the level of Poison, the faster the poison will damage you.

When the Poison effect wears off, the icon and particle effects will disappear and the hearts in your health bar will return to their original red color. You will be back to your normal status.

Depending on how you get the effect, the duration of the Poison effect will be different. To see how much time is remaining for the effect, go to your inventory menu.
