How to make Oak Planks in Minecraft

In Minecraft, wood planks including oak planks are another important item in your inventory that are used to make many other items in the game. The crafting process will create 4 oak planks at a time. Oak planks can also be used as a fuel in a furnace to smelt/cook 1.5 items (1 oak planks will burn in a furnace for 15 seconds).

How to craft Oak Planks in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make Oak Planks

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make oak planks, place 1 oak log in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When making oak planks, it is important that the oak log is placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 1 oak log in the first box. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for oak planks.

Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the 4 oak planks will appear in the box to the right.

3. Move the Oak Planks to Inventory

Once you have crafted oak planks, you need to move the new items to your inventory.
