In Minecraft, a sculk shrieker is a new item that was introduced in the Wild Update. A sculk shrieker is found in the Ancient City in the Deep Dark biome. A sculk shrieker responds to sculk sensors that detect vibrations. When a sculk shrieker is activated three times (by vibrations) with a light level of 11 or lower, it will send a call and awaken a new hostile mob called the Warden. A sculk shrieker can be waterlogged.

A sculk shrieker is an item that you can not make with a crafting table or furnace. Instead, you need to find and gather this item in the game.

How to get a Sculk Shrieker in Survival Mode

You can add a sculk shrieker to your inventory in Survival mode by mining a sculk shrieker with a tool that has been enchanted with Silk Touch. So let's get started!

1. Find a Sculk Shrieker

First, you need to find a sculk shrieker in your Minecraft world. A sculk shrieker is usually found in an Ancient City in the Deep Dark biome.

2. Hold a Tool with Silk Touch

To mine the sculk shrieker, you will need to use a tool that has been enchanted with Silk Touch such as hoe, pickaxe, shovel, or axe:

The efficient tool for mining a sculk shrieker is the hoe. So in this example, we are going to use a diamond hoe that is enchanted with Silk Touch.

3. Mine the Sculk Shrieker

The game control to mine the sculk shrieker depends on the version of Minecraft:

For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the sculk shrieker.
For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the sculk shrieker.
For Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
